Barcelona have revealed their new home kit for the 2024-25 season, with a throwback look to pay homage to their history.

The new campaign will mark 125 years of the football club, with the colours on the strip a 50-50 divide on the shirt rather than in stripes as they have been for the last number of years.

Barca's first kit well over a century ago was the same, with the club sharing that the new look is based on 'a design that brings an elegant and classic contrast to proceedings'.

The badge is located on the centre of the shir, with a gold Nike logo included as well as the Spotify sponsor in the game colour, though the club have said that the same logo used last season will be included in the first phase of the launch before a refreshed version is introduce.

Players from the men's and women's teams were involved in snaps of the launch, wearing jeans alongside the new shirt in promotional photos.

In the launch video, dubbed as an audiovisial campaign that defines the club in style of play and being a Catalan, the likes of Ronaldinho, Andreas Iniesta, Carlos Puyol and Pau Gasol all star as well as a number of current players.

The video is based on an ethos of 'we want the ball', with Ronaldino starting the video and passing a ball, which, in turn, makes its way to a number of players past and present in various different forms and locations.

The likes of Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Robert Lewandoswki are among the current players that star in the clip.

In the official photos, the likes of Aitana Bonmati and Gavi feature.

The club added that the new kits are made with Dri-FIT ADV, which is Nike's highest-quality material, and that they 'bring agility, breathability and ventilation exactly where they are needed' through data collected with body mapping technology.

The look is similar to that the club won the Champions League and Treble in during the 2008-09 season, with the colours not split in such a way since that season.

The club are entering a new era following the departure of Xavi as manager, with Hansi Flick appointed in his place.

They came up short in the Champions League and LaLiga last year and will once again look to compete with Real Madrid to reach the top.

They will get their season underway when they face Valencia in LaLiga on August 17.
