CARLSBERG GOLF CLASSIC RETURNS FOR 30TH YEAR, NOW INCLUDES TWO DIGITAL ROUNDS

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — The 2023 edition of the Carlsberg Golf Classic (CGC) will begin this month, incorporating two new digital legs dubbed #NEXTGEN to make the sport and competition more accessible to newcomers.

The two digital rounds will be played at MST Golf Arena, The Gardens Mall, and Golf X, Damansara City Mall, complementing the 30 traditional rounds to be played across the country from now until October.

“2023 marks a significant 30-year milestone as we upped the ante with Carlsberg Golf Classic #NEXTGEN, featuring digital legs for keen ‘newcomer’ golfers,” said Stefano Clini, Carlsberg Malaysia’s managing director, during the media launch here.

“This paves the way for a more inclusive and accessible entry point into the world of golf, enabling us to celebrate quality beer and memorable golf moments with on- and off-course golfers.”

The first-ever CGC was held thirty years ago in 1993, and the tournament was now Malaysia’s largest and longest-running amateur golf series.

At least 3,600 amateur golfers are expected to participate in CGC 2023, in which the nett and gross champions could win a Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar smartwatch and Garmin Marq GPS Smart Watch, respectively.

Also up for grabs were a Mercedes-Benz A200 and E200 put up as hole-in-one prizes, which also include a TaylorMade Select Plus Cart Bag, a pair of “Adidas Dress Like a Pro” outfits worth RM5,000, a TaylorMade Stealth Tensei Red Irons set, and a Garmin Approach R10 Golf Launch monitor.
