ROMELU LUKAKU ENDS CHELSEA NIGHTMARE WITH PERMANENT NAPOLI MOVE

Romelu Lukaku has completed a move to Napoli.

The Belgian international has ended a nightmare second spell at Chelsea by retuning with Antonio Conte for an initial fee of around £25m, with £12m in potential add-ons.

Lukaku won Serie A under Conte’s stewardship at Inter Milan in 2021 and his form saw the Blues splash out £97.5m to bring the striker back to Stamford Bridge later that year.

That move proved unsuccessful and Lukaku last played for the London club in May 2022, joining both Inter and Roma on loan in recent years.

Lukaku has signed a three-year contract in Naples and his arrival could pave the way for Victor Osimhen to leave the club.

The Nigeria international has handed in a transfer request and is of long-term interest to the Blues.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has hinted the club could still be active during what remains of the summer transfer window despite recently signing Joao Felix and Pedro Neto in forward positions.
