WHAT JAHAN DOTSON CONTRIBUTED TO THE EAGLES ON THE 32 SNAPS HE PLAYED

Jahan Dotson had plenty of opportunity to introduce himself to Philadelphia Eagles fans during their 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers in both team's season opener, played in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

But despite being on the field for 32 of the Eagles' 76 offensive snaps, Dotson, who was taken by the Commanders with the 16th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, had no catches and was the targeted just once by Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. The attempt came when the Eagles were closing in on taking a two-possession lead early in the first quarter.

On a second-and-13 from the Green Bay 14-yard line, Hurts looked to hit Dotson with a screen pass near the left sideline. The play nearly turned into a game-changer, as Keisean Nixon sprinted in front of Dotson as the ball was delivered to blow up the play. Nixon nearly intercepted the football on the play, which could have led to a pick-six return and a Packers lead.

Instead, the pass was incomplete, and the Eagles' drive continued ... for one more play.

That was because Hurts was intercepted on a throw into the end zone by Jaire Alexander. The Packers eventually turned that turnover into a field goal and just a two-point deficit at that point.

To be fair, Dotson is still getting used to the Eagles' system. He likely will need some time to get in synch with Hurts, who completed 20 passes, with 16 of those going to three Philly stalwarts — DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert.

But as Dotson begins to find his place in offensive coordinator Kellen Moore's offense and is able to utilize his blazing speed, the targets — and catches — should be coming soon.
