CHELSEA: WHAT ALEXANDER ISAK HAS SAID ABOUT NEWCASTLE EXIT AMID BLUES INTEREST

Chelsea’s search for a new striker has reportedly taken another twist and turn in the direction of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international has been linked with Arsenal this summer, but it is the Blues who have reportedly opened talks with Newcastle over a summer move.

The Mail reports that the fee would likely eclipse the club-record signing of Moises Caicedo, who cost £115million last summer.

The signing of a new striker is one of Chelsea’s priorities, although Newcastle are adamant the forward will not be sold amid talks of a £120m-plus valuation.

Isak, who arrived at St James’ Park from Real Sociedad for around £63m in the summer of 2022, scored 21 Premier League goals last season and still has four years to run on his contract.

The 24-year-old has consistently talked of how happy he is on Tyneside and recently reaffirmed that stance during an interview with Fotbollskanalen.

“I’m really, really happy at Newcastle,” he said.

“I had my best season of my career. You can’t underestimate that. I love everything about the club, the fans, the city.

“I don’t really have any thoughts of moving or anything like that. I’m having a great time and I’m very happy with my life.”
