JJ REDICK BREAKS SILENCE ON ALLEGATION HE CALLED BLACK WOMAN THE N-WORD

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick popped up in the headlines this morning for a very concerning reason.

Halleemah Nash an author and speaker accused the former Duke Blue Devils star of calling her the n-word while in college. Nash, who also attended Duke, made the claim in a post on social media that immediately started going viral.

"I've only been called the N word to my face by a white man once in my life and it was on the campus of Duke University while I was doing work with the basketball team. And today he was named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. What a world," the post read.

As of Tuesday night, the post has been liked over 130,000 times and has been viewed by over 14 million people.

After watching the message on X - formerly Twitter - start making the rounds on social media, Redick issued a statement to TMZ Sports through a spokesperson. He denied it ever happened.

"No, it never happened," the spokesperson for Redick said.

Redick will likely meet with the press more in the coming days after landing the Lakers job. We'll have to wait and see if he's asked about the allegation in person.
