NEW YORK KNICKS MAKE BLOCKBUSTER TRADE FOR FORMER FIRST-ROUND PICK MIKAL BRIDGES

After making a strong run in the Eastern Conference playoffs the New York Knicks made a bold trade in the hopes of competing for an NBA title.

On Tuesday night the team traded a massive haul to the Brooklyn Net for former first-round pick Mikal Bridges. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first broke the news.

"The Brooklyn Nets have agreed in principle on a trade to send F Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder," Woj reported on social media.

He later shared the full details of the trade.

"The Knicks are sending four unprotected picks (2025, 2027, 2029, 2031) a 2025 protected Milwaukee first, a 2028 unprotected pick swap and a 2025 second-round pick for Mikal Bridges and a 2026 second-round pick," the report read.

With the trade, Bridges rejoins former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. During the 2023-24 NBA season, the former first-round pick by the Philadelphia 76ers racked up 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game - all career highs.

Is this the move the Knicks needed to make to compete for a title?
