AMON-RA ST. BROWN EXTENSION ASSURES JUSTIN JEFFERSON WILL BREAK THE BANK

The Minnesota Vikings have been working on getting a contract extension done with wide receiver Justin Jefferson for over a year now. They were really close to doing so back in September and there have been rumblings that the two sides are close.

On Wednesday morning, the Detroit Lions signed Amon-Ra St. Brown to an extension that will pay him more than $120 million over four years with $77 million guaranteed. That's a massive contract that immediately puts him at the top of the market for wide receiver contracts.

Where does that put Jefferson? Well, for starters it means that Jefferson likely gets significantly more than St. Brown because he is a tier or two ahead of him. That could take his contract up to around $34-35 million per year, which would also make him the most expensive non-quarterback contract, beating the deal Nick Bosa signed with the San Francisco 49ers last year.

The NFL Draft might begin on Thursday, but there is still a lot going on behind the scenes.
