JACOBY BRISSETT'S TWO-WORD RESPONSE TO BEING 'OUTPLAYED' BY DRAKE MAYE

New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a short response when asked about coach Jerod Mayo saying he was outplayed by rookie Drake Maye.

Brissett struggled throughout the preseason, but he started to show some promise in the finale against the Washington Commanders, before going down with a right shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, Maye has looked exceptional under center in the preseason. The rookie has thrown for 192 yards and accounted for both a passing and rushing touchdown. He has flashed the ability to make plays with his legs and push the ball downfield with strong and accurate deep throws.

"No feeling," Brissett said, when asked about Maye's comments.

Brissett will have a chance to change the narrative in the Patriots' Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The veteran was named the starting quarterback on Thursday, and an upset win on the road in Cincinnati would go a long way toward changing the narrative.
