REPORT: COWBOYS MAKE OFFICIAL DECISION ON MICAH PARSONS CONTRACT

The Dallas Cowboys made sure Micah Parsons will be on the roster when the 2025 NFL season kicks off.

On Wednesday afternoon the team picked up Parsons' fifth-year option, which will cost just over $21 million for the 2025 season. Given Parsons' play over his first three years in the league that would be a bargain.

"The Cowboys have officially picked up Micah Parsons’ fifth-year option for 2025 at a cost of $21.324 million, per source. The price is determined by the position where he took the most snaps in 2023, which was defensive end. Ultimately, team hopes to sign him to long-term deal," Cowboys insider Todd Archer reported.

Following another early playoff exit, the former Penn State star made it clear changes were necessary heading into the 2024 season.

"We need to have way more accountability," Parsons said, via Cowboys Country. "I just think we let things slide too often because we know we’re good. That’s all about me. I want to change the culture. I want to change the identity of what the Cowboys are.''

In three seasons since he entered the league, Parsons has racked up 213 tackles and 40.5 sacks. He's one of the most dangerous defenders in the league and will likely pick up a new contract from the Cowboys in the near future.
